Our client is seeking a professional and compassionate Patient Access Specialist to support front-end patient services and help create a positive experience for every patient interaction. This role is responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling support, and maintaining accurate demographic and billing information in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent customer service while supporting efficient patient access operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous, professional manner
- Complete patient registration and intake accurately
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, authorizations, and referrals
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments
- Update and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and billing information
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments as needed
- Answer patient questions related to registration, appointments, and general intake procedures
- Ensure all documentation is complete and entered accurately into the appropriate systems
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to support smooth patient flow
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in patient access, medical registration, front desk, healthcare administration, or a related role preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and patient intake processes
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office systems

- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience supporting a hospital, clinic, or outpatient setting
