Forklift Operator II – 1st Shift
Location: Rincon, GA 31326
Pay: $20.50/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Job Description:
The Forklift Operator II is responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise efficiently and safely. This role requires proficiency with several pieces of equipment and a hands-on approach for at least 50% of working hours. Order filling or checking duties may also be assigned as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Operates all of the following equipment: sit-down forklift, reach truck, box clamp, and electric pallet jack (EPJ).
  • Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using approved equipment.
  • Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves products to storage locations.
  • Pulls and prepares products for shipment, ensuring accuracy in number and type.
  • Executes picking duties efficiently to meet service standards.
  • Moves products from staging/storage to trailers as needed.
  • Maintains accurate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security.
  • Assists with physical inventories and conducts cycle counts as requested.
  • Adheres to proper stock rotation practices.
  • Practices safe and efficient operation of all equipment, following prescribed work methods and completing daily inspection forms before use.
  • Uses RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Reports safety concerns and inventory discrepancies promptly to management and assists with resolutions.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace and complies with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating warehouse/distribution equipment.
  • Forklift certified on at least 3 types of equipment listed above.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and general computer use.
  • Capable of standing/walking for 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull up to 50 lbs. without restriction.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching, both above the head and below the waist.
  • Must be comfortable working in large distribution centers (over a quarter mile in length) and in varied environments (noise, lighting, temperature).
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and basic math ability are required.
