Job Description
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
In this exciting contract opportunity, you’ll empower K-8 students by providing crucial occupational therapy services in a vibrant and supportive educational environment. Located near Staten Island, NY, this full-time position covers both Extended School Year (ESY) and regular school year (NSY) programs—making a lasting difference for young learners throughout the academic calendar.
Your expertise as a school-based OT will support a diverse mix of individual and group sessions. With dedicated time for 16 one-on-one student sessions and 25 group sessions, you'll have the chance to address a variety of student needs while collaborating with teachers and school staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in New York State
- Experience working in a K-8 educational setting preferred
- Knowledge of school-based OT best practices and relevant documentation requirements
- Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans for ESY/NSY programming
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions to support students’ developmental, academic, and social success
- Conduct assessments and create goal-oriented treatment strategies tailored for both 1:1 and group formats
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in line with district and state guidelines
- Collaborate with families, educators, and support professionals to continually adapt therapeutic interventions
- Monitor student progress and participate in IEP meetings as required
