Project Engineer - E.I.T.

Job Title: Project Engineer - E.I.T. (Civil Engineering)
Job Location: Georgetown, TX
Base Salary: $70K-$110K
Requirements: At least 1 year of Post-Grad Civil Engineering experience and a E.I.T License in Texas


Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our civil engineering team focusing on land development and residential projects. The Project Engineer will support project delivery from conceptual design through construction by producing engineering designs, construction documents, calculations, and permitting submittals while coordinating with clients, agencies, and contractors. This role is ideal for an Engineer in Training who is working toward their Professional Engineer (PE) license and wants hands-on experience in design and project management in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare civil engineering plans, details, and technical specifications for land development and residential projects using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • Perform engineering calculations for grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, earthwork, and pavement design in accordance with local codes and accepted practices.
  • Develop permitting submittals and coordinate with municipal agencies, utility providers, and review boards to obtain approvals and permits.
  • Support project managers by preparing cost estimates, project schedules, scopes of work, and progress reports.
  • Provide construction phase support including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site visits and field inspections, and coordinating changes with contractors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams survey, geotechnical, environmental, and landscape to integrate design requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain project documentation, ensure quality control of deliverables, and implement engineering standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and review the work of drafters and junior staff; assist in training on CAD standards and technical procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification required; active pursuit of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering with emphasis on land development and residential site design (internships or co-ops may be considered).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; experience producing construction-ready plan sets and details.
  • Strong technical skills in grading, drainage/stormwater design, utility layout, and earthwork calculations.
  • Familiarity with local municipal codes, permitting processes, and typical design standards for residential development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to perform site visits; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
