The Clinical Nurse Educator within a Unit or area of oversite is responsible for collaborating with the unit coordinator, Nurse Managers and Directors of Nursing across sites to plan and implement specific orientation, in-service education, and staff development. Ensures competency of all staff within clinical area. Provides support in review and development of departmental policies and procedures. Provides specialty-based training and education to bridge the gap between identified educational needs and clinical staff to improve patient outcomes.
\nEducation/Experience
\nMinimum Required:
\n- \n
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing \n
- Three (3) years of nursing practice experience in a clinical setting \n
Preferred:
\n- \n
- Masters Degree in Nursing or related field \n
- Previous teaching experience \n
License/Certification
\nMinimum Required:
\n- \n
- Current New York State Registered Nurse License \n
- CPR within 3 months of hire \n
- Completion of Professional Certification within 3 years. \n
Preferred:
\n- \n
- Professional Nursing Certification in Professional Development \n
- Professional Certification in another nursing specialty \n
Work Environment
\n- \n
- Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated. \n
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting. \n
- Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions. \n
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants. \n
- PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies. \n
