Job Description:

The RN in the NICU provides care to neonates in a Level 4 NICU. The role requires expertise in critically ill neonates, with responsibilities including extensive clinical skills in monitoring, evaluation, and support.

Responsibilities:

• Providing specialized nursing care in the NICU with a focus on premature, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical, ECMO, and cooling patients.
• Completing SIMs Lab for sterile procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including neonatologists and respiratory therapists.
• Maintaining and administering care plans for neonates utilizing Cerner EMR.
• Adhering to unit protocols including lifts, restraints, and wound care based on specific hospital policies.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years Level 4 NICU experience, previous travel experience preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Cardiac STABLE.
• Completion of SIMs Lab competency in sterile skills required prior to assignment start.
• Competency in managing 1:2 ICU and 1:3 Level 2 nurse-patient ratios.
• Willing to work every 3rd weekend and 3 of 6 major holidays.
