About this job
Job Description
In Westfield, NY, you start your morning reviewing a set of plans, mapping out cuts, and organizing materials. By mid-day, you’re installing or repairing wood and sheet-good fixtures on a residential renovation or light commercial site. You wrap up by checking quality, tidying up, and ensuring tools are clean and ready for the next build—all while collaborating closely with teammates and communicating clearly with clients. It’s hands-on craftsmanship in a supportive, fast-moving environment where your eye for detail shines.
The RoleWe’re hiring a skilled carpenter who takes pride in precision woodworking and can move confidently between residential remodels and commercial projects. You’ll fabricate, install, and restore structures and fixtures, read plans, and turn measurements into clean, durable results.
Key Responsibilities- Fabricate, install, and repair structures and fixtures using wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and plan materials and measurements.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and related materials with hand and power tools.
- Deliver work to exacting standards of quality and safety.
- Coordinate effectively with other trades and team members to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent working order.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues.
- Proven experience as a carpenter or in a comparable role.
- Strong understanding of woodworking practices, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Sharp problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and strength for hands-on, manual work.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; carpentry certifications are a plus.
Based in Westfield, NY, you’ll join a supportive, dynamic team that values quality craftsmanship, safety, and collaboration across a variety of residential and commercial assignments.
