A Day in the Life

You arrive to a clean, organized station and review prints and job travelers. You plan complex setups on multi‑axis mills and lathes, load tools, verify offsets, and run first articles. Throughout the shift, you monitor quality, make in‑process adjustments, and troubleshoot issues to keep production on target. You partner with teammates, share tips with junior machinists, and document results so the next run is even better.

What You’ll Do

  • Advanced CNC Operations — Perform complex setups and run production on mills, lathes, and Swiss equipment, ensuring repeatability and throughput.
  • Quality & Troubleshooting — Inspect parts with precision instruments, interpret GD&T, and make program or offset corrections to maintain spec.
  • Maintenance & Safety — Conduct routine preventive maintenance; follow all safety procedures; keep your area orderly and audit‑ready.
  • Reporting & Communication — Record measurements, update run notes, and collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve issues quickly.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience — High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred. 2–4 years operating CNC machinery with proven blueprint fluency and precision metrology skills.
  • Core Strengths — Detail‑driven problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude; team‑oriented mentor able to guide junior machinists.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting with active machinery and production noise.
  • Frequent standing, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 30 lbs.

Schedule

Full‑time, standard shift hours; overtime as needed to meet demand.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $22.00–$30.00/hr.
