Part-Time Occupational Therapist — North Buffalo, NY
We are seeking two compassionate and skilled part-time Occupational Therapists to serve clients across the greater Buffalo area — covering the North territory (North Buffalo, Tonawanda, Kenmore, and Amherst, etc). The role focuses on providing high-quality, community-based occupational therapy services to individuals of varying ages and needs, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
- Position Type: Part-Time (approx. 20 hours/week).
- Location: North Buffalo, NY
- Schedule: Flexible; primarily weekdays during normal business hours.
- Compensation: Competitive per-visit rate, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct OT services to clients in your assigned territory.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Document all patient encounters, progress notes, and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Train and educate clients, caregivers, and family members in therapeutic techniques and adaptive strategies.
- Recommend and fit adaptive equipment and assistive technology as appropriate.
- Participate in care coordination meetings and case reviews.
- Maintain accurate records and submit timely billing documentation.
- Adhere to all state, federal, and organizational HIPAA policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Current NYS Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
- NBCOT certification (OTR) required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based visits.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of clinical OT experience (home health, community, or outpatient preferred).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with the Buffalo metro area communities.
- Specialty certifications (Hand Therapy, Driving Rehabilitation, Sensory Integration, etc.) are a plus.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus.
