Position Summary
Providence Healthcare of Thomaston is seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a per diem basis. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care focused on improving residents’ mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall independence.

Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and mobility programs
- Observe and report resident responses and progress to the supervising therapist
- Accurately document treatments, progress notes, and other required clinical records in compliance with facility and regulatory standards
- Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, safety awareness, and mobility techniques
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Current Georgia Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- CPR certification preferred
