Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide high-quality patient care on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with expertise in various clinical settings. As a vital member of our healthcare team, the PTA will assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans aimed at improving patient mobility, reducing pain, and promoting overall well-being.

Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Administer therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to alleviate pain and enhance function.
  • Monitor and document patient progress accurately, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and discharge planning to support ongoing recovery outside clinical settings.
  • Maintain detailed records of treatments provided, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health visits.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions.
  • Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy practices, including physiology knowledge and specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in inpatient or outpatient physiotherapy settings is highly desirable.
  • Skilled nursing facility experience or familiarity with geriatrics enhances the ability to address complex care needs effectively.
  • Experience providing physiotherapy services within acute care or hospital environments is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential for accurate assessment and treatment planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective care plans for diverse populations including pediatrics and orthopedics.
  • Familiarity with discharge planning processes ensures seamless transitions for patients returning home or to other care facilities.
