Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee federal construction projects from preconstruction through project completion. This individual will be responsible for managing all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract documents and federal requirements. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working on projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Department of Defense (DoD), NAVFAC, or other federal agencies and possess a strong background in vertical construction, infrastructure, or military facility projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all onsite construction activities from mobilization through closeout.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
  • Coordinate daily operations with Project Managers, Owners, Inspectors, and Government representatives.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and company safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and recovery plans when necessary.
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documents to proactively resolve field issues.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, quality control processes, and project documentation.
  • Manage manpower planning, material deliveries, and equipment utilization.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate daily reports and construction logs.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing federal construction projects.
  • Previous U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project experience required.
  • Experience with DoD, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, or other federal agencies highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of federal construction specifications, quality control requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $5M-$50M+.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to pass federal background checks and obtain access to government facilities when required.
