The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of occupational therapy principles, with experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting patients in regaining independence, optimizing their functional abilities, and improving their quality of life through personalized therapy interventions. The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to support their recovery and daily functioning.
  • Participate in discharge planning by evaluating patient progress and recommending appropriate therapies or adaptations for continued success post-discharge.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals—including speech therapists, physical therapists, and case managers—to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment outcomes, and care plans in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay current with advances in occupational therapy practices, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, and anatomy to deliver evidence-based care.

  • Experience working in skilled nursing facilities, inpatient units (including ICU), outpatient clinics, home health environments, or schools.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy interventions.
  • Ability to assist patients with ADLs and implement discharge planning strategies effectively.
  • Familiarity with case management processes and documentation requirements for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
