Job Title: Director of Automation Innovation


FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: VP of Pharmacy Services

SUMMARY:

As the Director of Automation Innovation, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development, optimization, and expansion of automation solutions across a multi-state pharmacy organization. This company first role will maximize performance and utilization of the existing DOSIS automated dispensing systems while driving the design of new technologies and process innovations to enhance pharmacy throughput and accuracy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The functions are as follow but not limited to:

- Lead continuous improvement projects with current DOSIS automation systems to increase throughput, reduce errors, and improve efficiency.

- Analyze system performance data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.

- Be the automation subject matter expert and partner with pharmacy operations teams to standardize best practices and optimize system utilization across all sites.

- Identify, design, and implement new automation technologies and solutions to improve pharmacy operations.

- Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and external suppliers to develop MedWiz automation capabilities.

- Develop and execute a long-term automation roadmap aligned with organizational goals.

- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.

- Drive measurable improvements in key performance indicators such as fill rate and system uptime.

- Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor ongoing performance and automation impact.

- Train and supervise DOSIS leaders as required

- 25% Travel Expected

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Sitting for extended periods of time, computer usage including data entry for much of the workday, regular phone communication, handling paperwork and documentation, and participating in meetings.


Requirements:


· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

· Proven experience working with automated dispensing systems (DOSIS experience strongly preferred).

· Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

· Demonstrated success in leading large-scale process improvement or innovation initiatives.

· Strong knowledge of financial modeling principles related to ROI

· Strong data mining and analysis skills to identify trends and make data-driven decisions

· Familiarity with warehouse management systems and other inventory software.

· Experience in collaborating with teams across multiple locations.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
