Data Entry Specialist - Temporary, 4 months

Job Summary:

The Data Entry Specialist manually inputs all data from the requisition form to the company’s laboratory information system (LIS) – this information determines the ability for patient reports to be appropriately placed in the LIS and accessible to providers. Errors in this department are detrimental to the receipt of patient results and therefore care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ability to learn and adapt quickly and follow directions

• Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for extended periods

• Computer savvy with ability to learn data input functionality and internal system utilized

• Reflects good judgement at all times when determining what action to take in resolving problems

• Highly organized

• Handles multiple tasks simultaneously and works in a production environment

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently

• Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to change and pursuit of continuous improvement

• Communicates effectively with all levels of staff; verbal and written

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Work schedule flexibility

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Competency test to assess level of data entry experience

• Full understanding and acceptance of compliance regulations related to role and responsibilities

• Detail-oriented, while maintaining quality (words per minute, spelling and grammar, numerical arrangement)

Education and Experience:

• Previous experience with Data Entry
