Civil Land Survey Party Chief

Entellus, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Land Survey Party Chief to join our team in Woods Cross, Utah. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and highly motivated individual to work in a collaborative work environment. The Survey Party Chief will plan, evaluate, and conduct field survey activities, manage and mentor the field survey teams, coordinate field survey work, and maintain daily survey logs as part of public and private commercial, residential, and industrial development projects. The team member filling this position must have knowledge and understanding of survey operations and related technical tasks, the ability to identify potential problems, and assist in and perform different types of field surveys including: construction staking, ALTA title surveys, boundary retracement surveys, monument/benchmark Surveys, UAS drone flights, and general topographic surveys.

Key Responsibilities

Successful individuals will be able to:

• Gather field survey data through use of conventional and GPS methods
• Set up, adjust and operate surveying equipment including robotic total station, data collectors and GPS equipment
• Mentor, train and supervise field staff
• Positively represent the firm while communicating professionally and regularly with clients on-site
• Rely on your sound judgement to think on your feet and make decisions on the fly
• Conduct field calculations and sketches; download and check data while being held accountable for the accuracy of all survey documents
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures and maintain company standards
• Maintain project schedules and complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion
• Maintain and take care of all company equipment and vehicles
• Any other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who possess the following skills and qualifications:

• 5-10 years survey party chief experience – LSIT or PLS NOT required
• Knowledge of survey calculations and ability to work in AutoCAD and/or Carlson
• Proficient with Trimble GPS and robotic total station data collection methods
• Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license
• Must be able and comfortable performing field survey tasks in varying weather conditions
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
• Strong verbal/communication skills
• A can-do attitude and willingness to work overtime
• An FAA drone pilot's license for UAS drone flights is preferred, but not required
