Job Title: Payroll Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt


Remote and or hybrid

JOB SUMMARY:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team. The Payroll Specialist will play an important role as a member of our payroll team. This team is responsible for maintaining payroll systems, processing paychecks, and communicating with management and employees. Further, this role will develop and apply a wealth of specialized knowledge to administer and reconcile benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Calculating multiple multi-state payrolls, taxes, deductions on a weekly basis while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Verify time and attendance information and maintain accurate records.
  • Investigate questions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform audits and reconciliation of quarter and year end filings, paid time off, benefit deductions and benefit invoices.
  • Audit employee changes to ensure accurate employee records.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, HR and Finance regarding payroll records, paychecks, company policies, reports, and journal entries.



MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or SKILLS:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree or FPC or CPP preferred but will consider a minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience in ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong data management skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers and quantitative reasoning
  • Strong communication skills while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for the privacy of employee records.
  • Must be able to prioritize and adapt in a fast paced, high output environment with time sensitive tasks.
  • Must be able to work as a team player, take directions from manager and work independently on self-directed projects

Work Environment

This position operates in both office and manufacturing floor environments. Exposure to noise, machinery, temperature variation, and industrial conditions may occur when accessing plant areas.
