SALARY RANGE: $21 - $27 / hr

YOUR ROLE & IMPACT

As part of a dynamic team at Charles River Community Health (CRCH), a healthcare practice providing compassionate care to underserved communities, the Pharmacy Technician will play a key role to assist the pharmacy team in the preparation, billing, and dispensing of prescription and OTC medications to Charles River Community Health Pharmacy patients. CRCH Pharmacies are on-site pharmacies that are designed to provide exceptional outpatient pharmacy services to CRCH and community patients.

  • Late morning/early evenings weekday shifts and 4-hour morning shifts every other Saturday where you can make a difference in a community setting.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional personal customer service and accommodate patient needs in a timely, efficient, and caring manner.
  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications while maintaining productivity as well as regulatory and quality standards.
  • Maintain patient records and prescription information using a pharmacy computer system.
  • Perform duties in an accurate, timely, knowledgeable, thorough, and complete manner.
  • Answer telephone calls in a timely, professional manner.
  • Under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist on duty:
  • Take stock bottles from the shelf for prescriptions
  • Reconstitute prescriptions
  • Label prescription containers
  • Prepare unit-dose, modified unit-dose, and medication cards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy or designee.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, TRAITS


· High School diploma or equivalent required.

· Active MA Pharmacy Technician Registration required.

· Certified Pharmacy Technician licensed by passing the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam preferred.

· Strong verbal and written communications skills and excellent customer service skills required.

· Must be flexible and be able to work different schedules to meet the needs of the pharmacy and organization. (Pharmacy hours are 8:30am - 7:00pm Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs; 8:30am – 5:00pm Fri, and 8:30am – 1:00pm Sat)

· Demonstrate competent working knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication.

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Possess ability to troubleshoot and solve problems preferred.

· Must be organized and able to prioritize tasks preferred.

· Must be adaptable, with a willingness to learn new responsibilities preferred.

· Prior recent experience (1-2yrs) in a retail community setting preferred.

· Knowledge of 340B Drug Pricing Program preferred.

· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

· PioneerRX Experience preferred but not required.

· Must have a willingness to work flexible hours to meet the organization's needs/demands.

· Must be able to travel to either Charles River Community Health site (Brighton and Waltham) as needed.

· Must have excellent communication skills, particularly with people from diverse cultures, with the ability to understand the community, population, and patients we serve.

· Must have experience in diverse cultures, with strong commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and reducing inequities.

· Must believe in the work we do at CRCH, with a strong passion to serve underserved populations in diverse settings.
