Position OverviewThe Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for our patients and plays a key role in delivering an outstanding patient experience. This position supports front desk operations, scheduling, insurance verification, and patient flow in a busy medical office.
Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in/out patients; manage front desk operations
Schedule appointments and coordinate complex calendars for providers
Verify insurance and maintain accurate patient records
Collection of copays, co-insurance, deductibles and any outstanding patient balances. As well as, have the ability to have financial conversations with patients.
Manage patient flow and support providers and clinical staff
Handle medical records and sensitive patient information
Provide administrative support as needed
Handle phones and triage patient phone calls (high call volume)
Schedule Requirement: Must be able to work full-time between 6:30am and 6:30pm (typically 8 hours shifts) and availability to work 1 Saturday per month.
2+ years of experience as a Medical Receptionist preferred
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience required
Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems a plus (Nextgen preferred)
Experience with Clearwave and insurance websites preferred
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate professionally via email
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Reliable transportation required
