Cook / Line Cook

We are seeking an experienced Full Time cook with at least 3 years working experience in a commercial kitchen environment. 

24 - 32 hrs p/wk

At Village Grocery and Refillery we prepare all our dishes with the best local, seasonal ingredients the hudson valley has to offer. We prepare everything in a convection oven, and panini press. The Mise en place is stocked with prepped cut cheeses, house made pickles, locally grown oyster mushrooms, pasture raised eggs and everything we need to operate the line.

The Cook/Gastronome will often prep the food and deliver it to the guest. This joy of serving the food directly is something we value, in the similar way that the barista will present a beautiful coffee to our customers.

As well as working the line, you will be required to serve customer, take orders, check out grocery shoppers and have strong customer service skills. When working the closing shift you will also help to wash dishes, put produce away and support the rest of your team in whatever way is needed. 
  

The ideal candidate is a hard worker who can take instruction well and is a team player. You must have a friendly outlook with strong customer service experience/skills. 

Pay is between $25 - $28 p/hr (including tips). 

VIllage Grocery has been serving incredible food and coffee to our Kingston community for 5 years. Our focus on using  local ingredients and forming direct relationships with our local farms inspires all our menu choices. We strive to use all our ingredients, with very low wastage, we compost scraps and operate as eco conscious as possible.
