About the Role:
Join Oak Crest Residence Association as a Cook in Elgin, IL, where you'll create delicious meals that bring joy to our residents. Be part of a dedicated team that values quality, creativity, and community.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is presented attractively and served in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist with menu planning and inventory management.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during meal service.
- Adapt recipes and meals to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance culinary skills.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role in a food service environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Passion for cooking and creating memorable dining experiences.
- Empathy and understanding towards residents' needs and preferences.
