Job Description
Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio Company, is actively seeking a contract Litigation Paralegal to support one of our law firm clients on site in Atlanta, GA.
Start Date: ASAP once interviewed and selected
Pay Rate: $40/hour
Location: North Atlanta - Galleria
Duration: Open ended, likely at least 6 months
Responsibilities:
- Prepare depositions notices and be familiar with efiling in state and federal courts.
- Prepare subpoenas for depositions and production of documents, and notices of service in state and federal courts.
- Arrange process servers and ensure service of subpoenas and third-party complaints.
- Prepare non-party discovery requests and rule 5.2s as well as efiling in state court.
- Ensuring non-party record compliance, preparing compliance letters, making phone calls etc.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to own a file and take the initiative on ensuring tasks are completed and followed up on timely and have good organizational and tracking skills.
- Prepare discovery requests to plaintiff and rule 5.2, for state court and 5.4 in federal court.
- Prepare documents for production, including redaction and bates numbering and production of same.
- Prepare documents to be used as exhibits to motions, responses, replies, and third-party complaints.
- Review and analysis of insurance policies and other documents and redaction of premiums and other information as needed.
- Review and identify documents for expert review and produce same to experts for review.
- Prepare exhibits for use at depositions, motions, mediations, and trial.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm
- Civil litigation experience required
- Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
- Experience working with paperless files. iManage experience a plus
- Must successfully pass a background/drug screen
- Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
