We are seeking a skilled Hydraulic Cylinder Technician to join our team and help us continue to exceed customer expectations.
Position Overview
The Hydraulic Cylinder Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic cylinders with precision and efficiency. This role requires hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Tasks
- Disassemble hydraulic cylinders to identify wear, damage, and faults.
- Perform repairs such as detailed seal replacement, honing, reconditioning or surface reconditioning.
- Conduct pressure testing to ensure repaired cylinders meet performance standards.
- Diagnose hydraulic system issues and recommend solutions.
- Assemble hydraulic cylinders per technical specifications.
- Replace or repair components such as rods, pistons, and bearings.
- Clean, inspect, and recondition hydraulic components.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment.
- Maintain detailed repair logs and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
- Inspect and test hydraulic components to identify root causes of failure.
- Ensure accurate use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Work Activities
- Inspecting hydraulic cylinders for wear, damage, and malfunctions.
- Handling heavy components and operating lifting equipment.
- Creating detailed reports of repair processes and outcomes.
- Using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Preparing components for repair by cleaning and machining.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals.
- Reassembling cylinders with new seals, rods, and other parts.
- Operating hydraulic test stands and analyzers.
- Conducting functional and pressure tests to verify repairs.
- Documenting repair processes and test results.
Technology Skills
- Proficiency with hydraulic test bench software and tools.
- Experience using ERP systems for parts and work order management.
- Competency with digital calipers, micrometers, and torque tools.
- Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Fluid Power Specialist (CFPS)
- Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic Certification
- Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic Certification
- OSHA Safety Certification
- Forklift Operator Certification
