Job Title: Patient Care Tech (Psych Unit)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Location: Bronx, NY

Shift: Days/Nights

Job Description:

• Provide continuous patient observation and maintain patient safety.
• Conduct and document safety rounds every 15 minutes.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and positive interactions.
• Support patients with activities of daily living as needed.
• Assist with behavioral de-escalation techniques under the direction of nursing staff.
• Foster a therapeutic environment emphasizing communication, connection, eye contact, and emotional support.
• Observe, document, and report changes in patient behavior or condition.
• Assist with EKGs and specimen collection/phlebotomy as required.
• Collaborate with nurses, mental health workers, and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Support emergency response situations as directed.

Requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certification
• Minimum one year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience
• Experience working with pediatric or adolescent populations
