Construction Commercial Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent for a project-based position in San Diego, CA to oversee trades and manage daily on-site activities for commercial, retail and industrial projects. Projects range from new construction to renovation of existing spaces.

The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals, consultants, and clients. Responsibilities include directing subcontractors and other construction-related personnel, planning, coordinating, and safely executing work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule, and budget. This individual will work closely with Project Managers and fulfill an integral role on each assigned project. This positions may require travel to locations within San Diego County.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum of 7+ years of related experience including a role as a Construction Superintendent for a General Construction company, managing construction projects in the field (i.e. projects from 1M to 5M in scope)
• Experience working with permitting jurisdiction required
• Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specs
• Must have a strong understanding of construction terminology, scheduling, and planning concepts
• Procore project management software (or similar software) experience is highly desirable
• Must be proficient at computer use as a means for communication (Word, Excel, Project)
• Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Must understand the importance of safety and quality on a job site
• Submittal review and shop drawing review experience
• OSHA 30 hr. and First Aid / CPR certified are a plus
• Must be able to pass security background investigation
