Senior-level Civil Engineer responsible for managing and delivering site civil development projects for commercial, industrial, retail, office, and mixed-use developments. The role involves leading project teams, coordinating with clients, providing technical oversight, and ensuring high-quality design and execution of civil engineering plans including site layout, drainage, grading, and utilities. Strong emphasis on leadership, mentoring, and end-to-end project delivery in a collaborative environment.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and manage site civil engineering projects from concept through construction documentation
Coordinate directly with clients and stakeholders for project requirements and delivery
Oversee preparation of design calculations, engineering drawings, details, and specifications
Review and modify plans to ensure compliance with standards and client expectations
Provide technical guidance and quality control for civil/site development designs
Manage workflow, project scheduling, and team coordination
Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Collaborate with internal teams on design solutions for commercial developments
Ensure project delivery aligns with budget, timeline, and regulatory requirements
Participate in site civil design including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout
Qualifications and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio (mandatory)
10+ years of civil engineering experience
Strong site civil development / land development experience
Experience in commercial, industrial, retail, or mixed-use projects
Proven experience in project management or technical lead role
Proficiency in civil engineering design standards and workflows
