Forklift Operator

Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material HandlerPay: $18/hrShift: 6:00am-2:00pm

Job Description

This role combines daily forklift operation with hands-on material handling in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will load and unload trucks, move materials throughout a large facility, and use Excel to track incoming and outgoing parts. The position requires regular team lifting, including transporting items up and down stairs, and calls for a safety-focused, individual who works well with others and communicates clearly.

Responsibilities

• Operate a stand-up forklift daily to move, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload items from trucks, ensuring accurate placement and secure handling.
• Handle various items, including heavy or bulky materials, using proper team lifting techniques.
• Perform general labor tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, packing, and packaging materials.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking, sorting, and staging orders.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including warehouse aisles and loading zones.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs with assistance and perform frequent physical labor.
• Experience operating a stand-up forklift and performing forklift operations safely.
• Hands-on experience with material handling, loading and unloading trucks, and general labor in a warehouse environment.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to perform team lifts and coordinate tasks with coworkers.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in general labor, warehouse work, or shipping and receiving is a plus.
• Experience with packing, packaging, and order picking in a warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with inventory, inventory control, and order picking processes.
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
