Job Title: Peanut Shelling Facility- Color Sorter Operator/General Production Worker
Job Description
Monitors, cleans, and maintains the operation of all the various electronic eyes and sizing system equipment used to separate damaged product and foreign material from good product and maintain APSA grades. Monitors, cleans, and maintains various pieces of equipment used to size, convey and clean shelled peanuts located in shelling and blanching plants and maintains the sanitation of the entire facility as needed.
Pay: 14- 16/hr
Shift: 2nd 3:00pm to 11:30 or 3rd 6pm to 4am
Responsibilities
- Monitor, clean, and maintain the operation of electronic eyes and sizing system equipment.
- Separate damaged products and foreign materials from good products.
- Maintain APSA grades.
- Monitor, clean, and maintain equipment used to size, convey, and clean shelled peanuts in shelling and blanching plants.
- Disassemble and reassemble various items inside the electronic eyes, such as ejectors, lamps, and control boards.
- Complete daily assigned tasks including communication with colleagues regarding equipment operation, changes in flow rates, processing capabilities, readings, safety, maintenance issues, paperwork, sanitation, maintenance, safety assignments, and food safety requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Color Sorter Operator I – High School Diploma preferred. Peanut Shelling experience preferred.
- Color Sorter Operator II - High School Diploma preferred. Two years previous experience required.
- Color Sorter Operator III - High School Diploma preferred. Technical college preferred. Three years previous experience required.
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant experience preferred.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical dexterity.
- Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime).
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.40/hr.
