The Production Associate supports daily manufacturing operations by assisting with the setup and operation of production machinery, loading and unloading materials, monitoring equipment performance, and inspecting materials for quality. This role follows established safety and quality procedures, adheres to work instructions, and consistently handles materials weighing 30–50 lbs throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation of production machinery according to established work instructions and procedures.
- Load raw materials into machines and unload finished or semi-finished products from production equipment.
- Monitor equipment during operation to identify irregularities, malfunctions, or safety concerns and report them promptly.
- Inspect materials and products visually and by feel to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques, to safely handle materials weighing 30–50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safe operations.
- Perform general labor and assembly tasks as needed to support overall production goals.
- Support general production activities, including basic machine operation and routine adjustments within defined guidelines.
- Adhere to all written work instructions, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements during each step of the production process.
- Ability to consistently lift and move 30–50 lbs throughout the shift.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Experience with general production and general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to assist with machine operation and basic machine operating tasks.
- Experience with assembly work as part of a production process.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, safety guidelines, and quality procedures.
- Strong attention to detail when monitoring equipment and inspecting materials.
- Previous experience working with production machinery in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members on the production floor.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing and production facility with structured shifts, including a 6:00 am–2:00 pm shift and a 3:00 pm–11:00 pm shift. You will work on or near production machinery, handling materials and products throughout the day. The environment is active and fast-paced, requiring frequent lifting of 30–50 lbs and extended periods of standing and moving on the production floor. Safety procedures and work instructions guide daily tasks, and employees are expected to follow all plant rules and maintain a clean, organized work area. Appropriate work attire suitable for a manufacturing setting is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Traverse City, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
