**Position Summary:

**

1st shift 7am -3:00pm - must be flexible

Pay 28-38/HR - **based on expereince

Provides support services to the Maintenance Department to ensure the efficient utilization of plant resources, and continued improvement of equipment and process reliability. The Technician is involved in the design, purchase, installation, programming and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and computerized control systems.

**Essential Functions:

**

  • Monitors electrical, electronic, mechanical control systems and other equipment for correct operation.

  • Initiates corrective action as necessary.

  • Responds to equipment breakdowns, and performs corrective procedures.

  • Coordinates mechanical and electrical activities with the Operations Team.

  • Maintains parts inventory, electrical and control documentation, equipment manuals, and other associated equipment information.

  • Designs, purchases, installs, and starts up various new controls as assigned.

  • Performs preventive maintenance, general repair and maintenance tasks including equipment changeovers.

  • Monitors the work of suppliers to ensure that appropriate electrical installation and repair is accomplished.

  • Miscellaneous project work is also required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

**

  • In-depth understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical control systems, including PLC programming. Specifically Allen Bradley PLC Controllers

  • Ability to program and troubleshoot electronic and computer-based control systems.

  • A basic understanding of engineering design, and experience with calculations for electrical and electronic systems.

  • Vocational training in electronics or equivalent experience in developing solutions to basic engineering problems is required.

**Physical Requirements:

**

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb ladders and stand for long periods of time, stooping, bending, twisting.

  • Working outside in various weather conditions is also required.

**Environmental Conditions

**

  • Personal protective equipment will be provided by the Company including, but not limited to glasses, goggles, welding masks, gloves, aprons and hearing protection.

  • Appropriate PPE IAW the NFPA regulations is also required.

  • The workplace is air-conditioned, heated and well lit.

**

Any and all safety issues must be reported to the supervisor immediately. All employees are advised of this and must be properly trained to perform this job using appropriate sanitation and food safety procedures.
