Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with diverse needs as a contract Special Education Teacher in an onsite role near Great Barrington, MA. This rewarding, full-time position serves students in Substantially Separate Classrooms—one for Kindergarten through 1st grade and another for 3rd through 5th grade. Your expertise will help shape learning environments for young learners with severe cognitive and physical disabilities, including students who are non-verbal, require toileting assistance, or are on the autism spectrum. Some classrooms include support from Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification
  • Experience working with students with significant cognitive and physical disabilities
  • Strong background in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (preferred)
  • Comfortable providing toileting support and assisting with personal care needs
  • Familiarity with severe/profound caseloads and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and patient when managing challenging behaviors
  • Ability to work onsite and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities
  • Collaborate with classroom RBTs and related service providers
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Employ strategies and interventions to support students with varying communication abilities
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing environment while promoting each child’s independence
  • Support students in daily living skills, including toileting and mobility needs
