This role operates and monitors packaging and production machinery in a large manufacturing environment, ensuring products are packaged accurately, safely, and efficiently. The position involves running equipment such as palletizers, strapping and wrapping machines, and supporting production overflow while maintaining high quality standards and a clean, safe work area. The role also requires physical stamina for long shifts and the willingness to learn forklift operation and obtain certification.
Responsibilities
- Operate and understand packaging machinery, including palletizers, strapping machines, wrapping machines, and related equipment.
- Support the operation of production machines by performing short-cycle, repetitive, and controlled equipment operations.
- Maintain set patterns of products on pallets or packaging lines to achieve consistent, high-quality output.
- Inspect products and packaging for quality defects and take corrective action as needed.
- Perform minor adjustments to machinery to maintain proper operation and product quality.
- Meet and maintain standard production objectives and output targets throughout the shift.
- Handle general production tasks such as packaging, packing, loading, and assembly as required.
- Assist with overflow of production to keep lines running smoothly and minimize downtime.
- Use hand tools and other basic equipment safely and correctly during production and minor maintenance tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of assigned work areas to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and products weighing up to and over 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
- Stand, walk, and move continuously during 12-hour shifts while operating and monitoring equipment.
- Learn to operate forklifts and work toward obtaining forklift certification for material handling tasks.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment operating machines.
- Experience with general production tasks such as packaging, inspection, packing, loading, and assembly.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate palletizers, strapping machines, wrapping machines, and other packaging equipment.
- Ability to perform repetitive, short-cycle machine operations while maintaining focus and quality.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for 12-hour shifts.
- Willingness to learn how to drive a forklift and obtain forklift certification in the future.
- Ability to use basic hand tools safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail for inspecting products and identifying quality defects.
- Ability to perform minor machine adjustments to support consistent operation and quality.
- Commitment to wearing required personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes and hearing protection.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing or packaging operation.
- Comfort working with forklifts and other material handling equipment once trained and certified.
- Ability to follow established production patterns and work instructions accurately.
- Strong work ethic with reliability for 12-hour shifts and overnight schedules.
- Comfort working in a structured, safety-focused environment with defined procedures.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large manufacturing and packaging operation with gated parking lots and badge-access entry to the building, providing a secure and controlled worksite. You will work primarily on a 3rd shift schedule from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on 12-hour shifts, with training initially on a day shift of 8-hour days for approximately 2 to 4 weeks before moving to 12-hour shifts. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with continuous machine operation and production lines. You will receive scheduled breaks and lunches during your shift. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and appropriate eye and hand protection, with potential head protection in certain areas. The dress code is typical of a manufacturing setting, emphasizing safety gear and practical work attire suitable for operating machinery and performing physical tasks.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
