Join a dynamic service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Pump Mechanic. You will play a crucial role in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of pumps, both in the shop and field settings. This position involves machining parts, replacing worn components, and refurbishing rotating equipment. Your expertise with measuring equipment and computer documentation will be essential for filling out inspection reports and ensuring accurate data capture.
Responsibilities
- Recondition pumps from the field by disassembling, tearing down, repairing, and reassembling.
- Machine parts for internal pump components and replace worn parts.
- Refurbish rotating equipment using precise measuring tools.
- Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges for testing.
- Complete inspection reports and document data using computer applications.
- 4+ years of experience as a pump mechanic.
- Proficiency with blueprint and schematic interpretation.
- Knowledge of assembly, disassembly, and repair of pumps.
- Familiarity with measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Basic computer experience, including Excel and Microsoft applications.
- Experience with manual machining and restoration.
- Familiarity with rotating equipment like compressors and turbines.
- Prior experience with competitors such as DXP, Conhagen, Flowserve, and TISS.

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled, medium-sized shop with high housekeeping standards alongside 35 total shop personnel. Enjoy both shop and field work with 30-40% travel, including full installs and exchanges. Benefit from a company truck, company card, and pay card for work expenses. Expect a day shift schedule from Mon-Fri, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a high likelihood of working 55 to 65 hours per week, wearing steel toes, jeans, work shirts, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Arthur, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
