Job Description

This role supports construction and site development projects by assisting crews with a wide range of tasks to help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will perform hands-on duties on active job sites, work closely with equipment operators and skilled trades, and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor duties including site cleanup, debris removal, and maintaining an orderly work area.
  • Handle materials by loading, unloading, moving, and staging supplies and equipment as directed.
  • Assist heavy equipment operators and skilled trades professionals with tasks such as setup, support, and basic preparation work.
  • Prepare job site areas by setting up barricades, signage, and work zones, and by organizing tools and materials.
  • Use basic hand and power tools safely and correctly for tasks such as measuring, cutting, fastening, and assembling.
  • Support concrete work, packaging, and loading activities as needed to keep projects on schedule.
  • Operate or assist with equipment such as forklifts when qualified and directed by supervision.
  • Perform landscaping or carpentry-related support tasks as required by specific projects.
  • Follow all safety standards, procedures, and site rules, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the shift to reduce hazards and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues on site.
  • Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time, prepared for work, and ready to perform physically demanding tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in general labor or construction work is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform site cleanup, including debris removal and general housekeeping of work areas.
  • Proficiency using basic hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, wrenches, and related tools.
  • Ability to use basic power tools safely under supervision.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following all safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Basic material handling skills, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support crew members as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to and from various job sites.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn new tasks and skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous construction, site development, or general labor experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with packaging, loading, and basic logistics support is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with forklifts or other material handling equipment is an asset.
  • Exposure to carpentry, landscaping, or related trades is helpful.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus and demonstrates strong safety commitment.
  • Comfort working in a team-based crew environment with clear communication and coordination.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
