Pipefitter Foreman
Job Description
This role leads and supervises pipefitting crews on active job sites while working hands-on to install a variety of mechanical piping systems. The Pipefitter Foreman ensures safe, high-quality installations, coordinates daily field operations, and collaborates closely with project leadership and other trades to keep projects on schedule and within quality standards.
Placement Type
This is a direct hire position - no temporary or temp to permanent contracts.
Pay
Open to discussion, traditionally in the 30's or low 40's before overtime.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and work alongside pipefitting crews on job sites to ensure safe and efficient completion of work.
- Perform hands-on installation of piping systems, including chilled water, hydronic, steam, HVAC, and process piping.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications to plan and execute piping layouts and installations.
- Lay out, measure, cut, thread, and install piping systems and associated supports according to project requirements and applicable codes.
- Coordinate daily activities, including manpower allocation and material needs, to maintain production goals and project timelines.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to align schedules, resolve conflicts, and keep projects on track.
- Inspect work in progress and completed installations to verify adherence to quality standards, specifications, and code requirements.
- Troubleshoot field issues related to piping systems and implement practical, timely solutions.
- Apply knowledge of layout, rigging, and installation best practices to safely move, position, and secure piping components.
- Promote and enforce safety standards and OSHA requirements on the job site to protect crew members and maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of pipefitting experience with at least 2+ years in a foreman or lead role.
- Strong hands-on experience installing mechanical piping systems, including chilled water, hydronic, steam, HVAC, and process piping.
- Proven ability to read and work from construction drawings, blueprints, isometrics, and specifications.
- Demonstrated experience leading pipefitting crews while actively working in the field.
- Knowledge of layout, rigging, and installation best practices for mechanical piping systems.
- Solid understanding of safety standards and OSHA requirements.
- Experience in construction environments, particularly with HVAC and duct installation.
- Ability to coordinate manpower and materials to meet production and project goals.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve field issues effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 10 certification preferred, but not required
- Experience collaborating with project managers, superintendents, and multiple trades on active construction sites.
- Familiarity with mechanical construction practices and standards.
- Strong communication skills to direct crews and interact with project stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain high quality standards while working in a fast-paced field environment.

Work Environment
This is a field-based role in active construction and mechanical environments, working directly on piping and HVAC systems. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with work performed on job sites alongside other trades. You will work with tools and equipment used for pipe layout, cutting, threading, rigging, and installation, and operate within established safety and OSHA guidelines.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
