Certification Details
- Staff Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for a group of patients during designated time frames.
- Provides care using nursing process, trends, technology, and resources within institutional philosophy.
- Performs unit-specific responsibilities within scope of service.
- Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care.
- Completes initial patient assessments and develops care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and modifies care plans based on continuous evaluation.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards.
- Communicates effectively to resolve issues and provide feedback for professional development.
- Identifies own learning needs and fulfills departmental competencies.
- Receives bedside shift report including patient input and room safety validation.
- Delegates tasks to Health Care Technicians and validates task completion.
- Documents basic RN patient care activities including assessments, vital signs, physician orders, admissions/discharges, rounding, care plans, and patient education.
- Meets Carle Med/Surg RN documentation standards.
- Administers patient medications following the 5 Rights (patient, medication, route, dose, time).
- Maintains patient safety with fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
- Promotes a positive and healthy work and healing environment.
- Responds promptly to patient call lights and requests.
- Uses critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and act on changes in patient status.
- Communicates within healthcare team to promote collaboration, coordination, and safety.
- Manages time to facilitate quick admission/discharge and patient testing for Observation status patients.
Job Details
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience.
- Illinois state RN License in good standing.
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
Job Requirements
- Night shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- 12 hours per day.
- 36 hours per week.

- Med/Surg unit (CFH Med/Surg - CT9A).
