Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level III Neonatal ICU travel assignment in Corpus Christi, TX, requiring ventilator experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

• Level III NICU located on the 1st and 2nd floors of a hospital campus in Corpus Christi, TX
\n
• 32-bed unit with a staff of 63 nurses
\n
• Patient population includes neonates ranging from 23 to 40+ weeks gestation
\n
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
\n
• Equipment includes ventilators, oscillators, and Vapotherm
\n
• EMR systems used: Centricity Perinatal and Meditech
\n
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
\n
• 13-week contract
\n
• 3–4 weekends per month required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Floating to Level II NICU and Newborn Nursery may be required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active TX or compact RN license required
\n
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC accepted) and NRP Advanced 9th Edition (current card from American Academy of Pediatrics required)
\n
• Minimum 1 year of recent NICU experience required
\n
• Ventilator experience required
\n
• Experience with neonates from 23 to 40+ weeks gestation required
\n
• Ventilator/oscillator experience preferred
\n
• Centricity Perinatal (CPN) charting experience preferred
\n
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
\n
• One professional reference required
\n
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Typical procedures include intubations, assisting with eye exams, feeding tube insertions, and IV insertions
\n
• Night shift team includes one charge nurse, a part-time unit clerk, and nurses as needed for patient census
\n
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
\n
• Royal blue scrubs required
\n
• Candidates with oscillator experience and CPN charting experience will be given priority consideration
\n
