Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior travel experience, Cerner proficiency, and MD or compact RN licensure.

• Work setting is a hospital-based Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
\n
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n
• Every other holiday required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Charting system: Cerner (required)
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active MD or compact RN license required
\n
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
\n
• Preferred certifications: ENCP and TNCC
\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience required
\n
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment to be considered — first-time travelers may be considered with Cerner experience and a strong profile
\n
• Cerner EMR experience required
\n
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, emergency medications, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, respiratory care, and isolation precautions/PPE
\n
• Preferred skills: central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, care of ventilated patients, and triage
\n
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
\n
• Driver's license required for local status determination
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on the lethal rhythms section prior to clearance
\n
• Candidates who were previously employed at MedStar must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler
\n
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
\n
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
\n
• Charge nurse experience is preferred
\n
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
\n
• 13-week contract
