Start Times: 0700 / 0930 / 1000 (flexible start based on assignment)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week travel assignment in the Operating Room at UnityPoint Health – Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The CST will support surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting the surgical team during operations. This role requires strong OR experience, adaptability across specialties, and proficiency with hospital EMR systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments before, during, and after procedures
Assist surgeons and OR staff by providing instruments, supplies, and equipment as needed
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and disposal of surgical instruments and specimens
Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols
Document and coordinate supplies and workflow using Epic EMR
Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia teams
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years of recent Operating Room CST experience
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Current BLS (AHA) certification
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and OR protocols
Ability to work flexible start times (0700 / 0930 / 1000 shifts)
