About this job
Job Description
Clinical Engineer (BioMed Tech) | Biomedical/Clinical Engineering
Gateway Regional Medical Center - Granite City, IL
Full-Time | $27.76–$44.98/hr
Where engineering meets patient care.
Every ventilator, infusion pump, and patient monitor in this hospital depends on someone who knows it inside and out. That's you. As a Clinical Engineer on our Biomedical/Clinical Engineering team, you'll be the technical expert clinical staff turn to when equipment needs to perform flawlessly - because in healthcare, "good enough" isn't an option.
If you're the kind of engineer who likes solving real problems with real consequences, and you want your technical skills to translate directly into patient safety, this role is built for you.
What This Role Involves
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing a wide range of clinical equipment - from defibrillators and ventilators to imaging systems and infusion pumps
- Ensuring every device meets regulatory and safety standards before it touches a patient
- Working hand-in-hand with clinicians to understand equipment needs and resolve issues quickly
- Bringing sharp analytical thinking to complex technical problems under real-world pressure
You're a Strong Fit If You Have
- A Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Clinical, or Electrical Engineering - or 5+ years of equivalent hands-on experience
- Demonstrated experience servicing diverse medical equipment
- A working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and safety standards
- Sharp troubleshooting instincts and the communication skills to work cross-functionally
- Bonus points for CBET, CCE certification, hospital CMMS experience (TMS, AIMS, Nuvolo), device cybersecurity knowledge, or project/capital planning experience
What You'll Get
- Competitive pay: $27.76–$44.98/hr, based on experience and qualifications
- Performance-based incentives
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage (Benefits Guide)
- Employer-matched retirement savings
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Shift differentials
- A team culture that genuinely has your back
At Gateway Regional, we believe great patient care starts long before a clinician walks into the room - it starts with equipment you can trust. Help us make sure it's always ready.
Final compensation is determined in partnership with HR based on experience, certifications, and skills relevant to the role.
