Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner Locum Opportunity

A Level II Trauma Center is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for ongoing locum coverage. This role combines clinic responsibilities with call coverage and requires significant cardiothoracic surgery experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH).

Compensation: Hourly: $180/hour, OT/CB: $250/hour, 24 Hour Call: $855 per 24 hours, Night Call: $320/night.

August

August 10–12: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

August 13–16: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus night call

24-hour call coverage on August 15–16

September

September 7–11: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

September 28 – October 2: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

October

October 5–11: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus night call

24-hour call coverage on October 10–11

October 26–31: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus night call

24-hour call coverage on October 31

November

November 23–28: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus night call

24-hour call coverage on November 26 and November 28

December

December 21–31: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM plus night call

24-hour call coverage on December 26 and December 27

Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)

Cardiothoracic surgery support and patient management

Program Details

Approximately 125 CABG procedures annually

Limited emergent CABG volume

Requirements

Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner

Active Iowa License

ACLS Certification

BLS Certification

Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience

EVH experience

Ability to cover at least some of the requested dates

Clean malpractice and background history

Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation

Credentialing & Presentation Requirements

NPDB Self-Query required at presentation

Must clearly document CT Surgery experience and EVH proficiency

Availability for requested coverage dates must be noted
