This exam requires you to independently interpret cardiac rhythms using EKG strips and perform necessary calculations to determine the correct answers. This is a PASS FAIL exam. A score of 80% is required and no re-takes are allowed. You should be able to: Accurately analyze EKG strips using systematic interpretation (rate, rhythm, P waves, PR interval, QRS complex, etc.), with measurements using the 5 steps process Calculate heart rate using appropriate methods (e.g., 6-second strip, R-R interval) Identify and differentiate between rhythm types without prompts or answer choices The exam will include, but is not limited to: Ventricular rhythms Atrial rhythms Heart blocks Junctional rhythms Paced rhythms Strong foundational knowledge and the ability to apply critical thinking skills in rhythm interpretation are essential for success. Traveler must begin lab work within 2 business days of acceptance, or they are at risk of cancellation Floating: All current and future travelers at the Valley Hospital Paramus and The Valley Hospital Float Pool are expected to float, as needed, to the Ridgewood Observation Unit (an offsite location in Ridgewood, NJ).
