Job Summary:

The Family-Based Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Family-Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS) program across multiple county offices. This role includes, but is not limited to, personnel management, administrative oversight, and ensuring compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements. The Director provides clinical and administrative leadership to staff, ensuring service delivery aligns with program standards and regulatory mandates. Additional responsibilities include overseeing referral processes, service approval, collaborating with managed care organizations, and maintaining strong partnerships with community providers to ensure the delivery of effective, comprehensive care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Direct ongoing quality assurance efforts, including regular audits of client records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all treatment planning complies with state regulations and managed care standards, emphasizing strength-based approaches, measurable outcomes, and timely documentation of client progress.
  • Ensure the timely completion and submission of all required reports, data tracking tools, and regulatory documentation to executive leadership and governing bodies.
  • In collaboration with psychologists, psychiatrists, and referral sources, oversee the clinical admission process, ensuring appropriate determination of eligibility, including verification of insurance coverage and managed care requirements prior to service initiation.
  • Lead and participate in required meetings, trainings, and supervision to promote program effectiveness, staff development, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead workforce management efforts, including recruitment, interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development; make and implement decisions regarding disciplinary actions and terminations in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Maintain accountability for program-wide compliance by ensuring all staff complete required documentation in accordance with agency policies, and state and managed care regulations.
  • Oversee the review and approval of clinical and administrative documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and timesheets, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership, ensuring staff have access to consultation and support as needed, including availability beyond standard business hours when appropriate.
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight to ensure the consistent implementation of the Family-Based program's philosophy, principles, and procedures across all service areas and locations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Educational Requirements:

A graduate degree in psychiatry, psychology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, education or a graduate degree in the field of human services plus at least 3 years direct care experience with children or adolescents in the following Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) systems: Mental Health, Mental Retardation, Education, Special Education, Children and Youth, Drug and Alcohol, Juvenile Justice, Health Care and Vocational Rehabilitation, including 2 years of supervisory experiences in any program of the CASSP system.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to demonstrate effective problem solving and maintain highly confidential data.
  • Ability to travel, driving to meetings and various ACRP sites.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess a clinical and administrative skill-set.
  • Strong ability to relate to clinical teams and build solid relationships.
  • Team-player who can work independently.
  • Understanding of compliance, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-business hours.

Required Clearances:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Act 31/Act 126 Clearance Mandated Reporter Training.
  • Act 34 Clearance Pennsylvania State Police Background Check (Criminal History).
  • Act 114 Clearance FBI Fingerprint.
  • Act 33 Clearance Pennsylvania Child Abuse.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time, unassisted.
