Full Time Medical Records Clerk

What you'll do:

  • Manages facility medical records, including assembly, labeling, filing, cleaning, and purging documents
  • Compiles statistical data as directed by the Administrator
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Oversees preparation and submission of annual OSHPD and other required reports
  • Performs scheduled audits of medical records and documentation
  • Reviews resident charts for deficiencies and assists in correction processes
  • Issues deficiency reports and tracks completion deadlines for corrections
  • Coordinates 10A documentation, obtains DON approval, and submits to Business Office
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience as a medical records practitioner in a long-term care setting required
  • Experience with computer data entry required
  • Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
  • Full range of motion required, including handling and lifting patients
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices) to perform duties
