Full Time Medical Records Clerk

What you'll do:
- Manages facility medical records, including assembly, labeling, filing, cleaning, and purging documents
- Compiles statistical data as directed by the Administrator
- Ensures confidentiality and security of health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Oversees preparation and submission of annual OSHPD and other required reports
- Performs scheduled audits of medical records and documentation
- Reviews resident charts for deficiencies and assists in correction processes
- Issues deficiency reports and tracks completion deadlines for corrections
- Coordinates 10A documentation, obtains DON approval, and submits to Business Office
- Performs additional duties as assigned

What we're looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience as a medical records practitioner in a long-term care setting required
- Experience with computer data entry required
- Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases
- Full range of motion required, including handling and lifting patients
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50-100 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices) to perform duties
