School Social Worker – Special Education (In-Person)
Location: Elizabeth, CO
Type: Contract (25 Weeks)
Pay: $2,000 – $2,300 Weekly
Shift & Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Position OverviewNavitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to support students within a Special Education setting. This fully onsite role focuses on promoting students' academic success, emotional well-being, behavioral growth, and social development while fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of special education services, IEP processes, and school-based social work practices.
Responsibilities• Provide individual and group counseling services to students receiving special education support.
• Assist students in addressing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges affecting academic performance.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct student assessments, evaluations, and social history reports.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of student support plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and progress reports.
• Connect students and families with community resources and support services.
• Advocate for student needs and promote educational success.
• Support crisis intervention and behavioral management strategies when needed.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
Required Qualifications• Valid Colorado School Social Worker License (Required at time of interview).
• Minimum 1 year of school-based social work experience.
• Strong knowledge of Special Education regulations and IEP processes.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and support staff.
• Ability to work fully onsite.
Preferred Qualifications• Experience working with students receiving special education services.
• Experience with behavioral intervention planning.
• Knowledge of community-based support programs and resources.
• Strong crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.
