Job Summary

PPI Quality & Engineering is currently seeking an experienced CWI / Mechanical Inspector to support supplier surveillance and shop inspection activities for fabrication of a Main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger (MCHE) project in Port Manatee, Florida.

This assignment will support fabrication oversight at the supplier facility and is expected to evolve from adhoc inspection support into a long-term resident inspection opportunity.

About the role

Responsibilities
  • Perform welding and mechanical inspections during fabrication activities
  • Monitor supplier quality and compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
  • Review welding documentation, material traceability, and quality records
  • Witness fabrication, testing, and inspection activities
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to project stakeholders
  • Interface with supplier personnel, client representatives, and project teams
  • Ensure quality requirements and project deliverables are met


Do you have what it takes?

  • Current AWS CWI certification required
  • AST Level 2 MPI and LPI
  • Strong mechanical inspection background within industrial fabrication environments
  • Experience with cryogenic equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, or LNG projects preferred
  • Previous experience with Honeywell / APCI strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of ASME codes, welding processes, and quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication documents
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently in a supplier surveillance environment
