Facilities Maintenance Technician

Location: Louisville, KY

Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $24.00/hr.

Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. | Monday - Friday

Position Overview:

Snelling is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support facility operations for a private school in Louisville, KY. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining the campus through electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC support, painting, drywall repair, and general building and grounds maintenance.
This position is ideal for a motivated maintenance professional with strong leadership abilities and the desire to grow into future leadership opportunities within the facilities department. The ideal candidate will take initiative, communicate effectively, and lead by example in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform general building and grounds maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC support, and repairs.
- Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain tools and supplies.
- Support campus events with room setups and breakdowns.
- Assist with seasonal duties, including snow and ice removal.
- Help prioritize maintenance tasks and support daily workflow as needed.
- Complete work orders, documentation, and other routine paperwork.
- Safely lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a commercial, institutional, or similar environment.
- Leadership, mentoring, or team lead experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC support, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility for overtime as needed.
