Job Description
Inclusion Consulting LLC is seeking to immediately hire a full-time Geologist or Environmental Scientist in our Kailua, Hawai’i office. This is an entry level position that provides support for environmental compliance, investigation, and remediation projects and will be responsible for assisting with preparing client deliverables and conducting field investigations. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Assist with implementing project scopes of work.
· Perform project tasks in accordance with environmental and other applicable rules and regulations, as well as with approved project plans.
· Collect soil, water, soil vapor, air, and other samples for laboratory analysis.
· Conduct endangered species surveys and monitoring.
· Collect field data, observe and document field work, as directed.
· Assist with subcontractor oversight and document subcontractor activities on construction, commercial, and industrial sites, as directed.
· Operate and maintain field equipment (e.g., Photoionization detector, lower explosivity level meter, X-ray fluorescence detector, oil/water interface probe, air monitoring equipment, and groundwater sampling equipment).
· Assist with preparing technical reports, permit applications, correspondence, and work plans. Activities include reviewing, tabulating, and interpreting laboratory analytical data, drafting text, preparing figures, and producing documents.
Position Requirements:
· Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Planning, or a related technical discipline.
· One year of work experience is preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
· Possess a Valid Driver's License.
· Must either own a personal vehicle or have access to a vehicle for all assigned work hours, which may include short-notice assignments in response to client needs. The vehicle must be maintained in good working condition. The vehicle must have current vehicle registration, safety check certificate, and insurance.
· Must currently reside on O’ahu or relocate to O’ahu within one month of receiving a job offer to work in Kailua, Hawai’i. Inclusion Consulting does not provide relocation assistance.
Work Environment:
The work environment will consist of a mix of office (including working from your home remote office) and field work. Fieldwork locations include urban and remote areas on Oahu and may include assignments on neighbor islands.
Field activities take place in a variety of weather conditions and can include areas of uneven terrain or occur during hot and inclement weather. Working conditions include working at construction sites and in close proximity to heavy construction and drilling equipment.
