Lead Estimator - Civil Construction

Sage Construction Group is a South Florida-based civil contractor specializing in site development, underground utilities, drainage, roadway improvements, asphalt paving, MOT, concrete, and public works construction. We are seeking a motivated Lead Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to help drive the growth of our estimating department and support both public and private sector projects throughout South Florida.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete cost estimates for civil construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, drainage, concrete, asphalt, and site improvements.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Prepare bid proposals and project budgets.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
• Coordinate project turnover to operations upon award.
• Maintain estimating databases, production rates, and historical cost information.
• Assist with business development and client relationships.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• Experience with sitework, underground utilities, drainage, paving, and concrete.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of means and methods for civil construction.
• Experience with public and municipal projects preferred.
• Proficient with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, InSite Elevation, Agtek, HCSS HeavyBid, or similar software.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
