We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for follow-up tasks, patient updates, and data entry. The role requires answering inbound phone calls, ordering labs, relaying lab results, and scheduling follow-ups. Candidates must have prior medical experience and familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Athena.
Responsibilities
- Perform follow-ups with patients and update their records.
- Enter patient data accurately into the electronic medical record system.
- Answer inbound phone calls and provide excellent customer service.
- Order laboratory tests and relay lab results to appropriate parties.
- Schedule follow-up appointments efficiently.
- Experience with medical records and electronic health records.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling and patient care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to provide clinical support.
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
- Strong communication skills for taking calls and interacting with patients.
- 1+ year of experience in Medical Assisting.
- Medical Assisting diploma or certification is preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma.
- RMA certification and experience in front desk operations.
- BLS certification and familiarity with insurance processes.
This position is based onsite at a clinic and operates Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. Our workplace offers a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and a 401K plan.
